When I recently got my vette I knew the antenna did not work however,I decided I would check and make sure that it was plugged in which it turned out to be unplugged when I plugged it in it the motor continuously ran without moving the antenna at all. What do I do next?Replace the whole thing? It seems weird that the motor would do that

Yes there are a lot of threads on this one. Replaced mine with the AC Delco for around $100. Read the advice here as its very helpful. It's not a hard replace, but a few tricky points that are pointed out in this forum. Good luck!

Just replaced mine. It is a little involved, so be prepared to do the work. You have to remove the left rear wheel, inner wheel housing, rear tray and rear drive side trim section (in the rear hatch area). Then you have to lay on your back and remove the antenna bolt. The problme is that once you get the antenna bolt out, you need to reach near the top of the antenna and remove the second grounding strap. Make sure you have the tool to remove the top nut of the antenna. Good luck. There is a lot of good help on this site.

Yes, it's not a hard job...just working in a cramped area. Took me about 2 hours and I'm no mechanic. My interior connection was a little easier than the coupe I think. I have the roadster and could just tip up the rear deck and work on the connection and grommet right in front of me.There was an earlier suggestion to go through the left tail light. I considered it but I don't think it would have been any easier than as suggested by Dino89vette.
Price here in Canada was about $150 Canadian $$. Now it works slick as snot!
