Anybody try Zaino?

Just wondering if anyone has tried the Zaino products, and if you liked the results. Any better that Mother's or Meguiar's?

You mean Zaino? Yes, I use it on my vettes, and like Greg says, I'm one of those who swear by it. It's a polish, rather than a wax, so it doesn't yellow over time.

Thanks, I took the advice and searched the topic - lot's o' posts. So, I guess you don't apply wax after? Meguiar's suggests wax after polish.

I've used Zaino Bros, Meguiar's, Liquid Glass, Zymol, Formula 113, etc. I first tried Zaino Bros. about 2 years ago – Steps 2, 3, and 5. I really like the stuff and I like that Sal Zaino personally responds to emails. In a comparison against my standard, Formula 113, it tied for second place along with Liquid Glass. I don’t mind the multiple steps with Zaino products, because I understand the premise. I’m just looking at end results along with a bit of time factor thrown in. With Zaino, it takes about 2-3 hours to do a good job, due to drying time (without drying accelerator). With Formula 113, I can wax the Corvette in about 45 minutes beginning to end. I still use my Zaino, but out on the open show field, I’ll use 113 for the best shine possible. Plus, using the 113 on a hot surface in direct sunlight makes no difference in how 113 goes on or comes off. In sum, they are all good products, but depending on what you’re looking to achieve, one may be better for you.

I’ve been very happy with use of Zaino’s products on my ’96 Polo Green coupe. I like that it’s easy to apply and just as easy to remove. You won't have the flaky white residual that you have with some waxes upon removal. It’s pricey, but when it comes to paying for my Zaino shipments, I feel like I’m getting my money’s worth.

I’ve heard good things about Mequires NXT, but have yet to try it. I’ll try the NXT on my commuter cars and see how it does. But I think the Vette will always receive the Zaino, I’m that happy with it.

I think it makes a diffence on the color car.I tryed Zaino on quicksilver and it didn't do a thing for me or the car.I went back to liquid glass and got better results. Nice to meet ya on the road Remo-nothing but vetts all the way to Bristol and back.

Our '02 Electron Blue was one of the ones at Carlisle that was used for an Adams demonstration. We were very impressed. Bought the package. I clayed the Grand Sport yesterday and did the front half (didn't have the time to do it all) of the car. It looks spectacular! I'm going to finish the car this weekend. Glad we found this product.

Remo, I was told about Adams Products from Elaine, bought almost everything they had that I needed the stuff works great! "Adams" also gave me a DVD on how to use their products.

This subject will always be a big topic on all the forums. I use the Zaino and love it. I use it on the Vette (Spiral), and my Avalanche (Indigo Blue) I get a lot of compliments on both. If you do it right, the first aplication is a lot of work. I think it's worth it though. Once again, it all falls to your opinion. Everyone knows what you say about opinions! O. Let us know what your final decision is.

I agree with Baron. The subject of waxes and polishes is one of those (like automatic transmissions vs. manual, or the aesthetics and functionality of body side moldings) will induce endless debate.

The bottom line is that it's your Corvette, and it's appearance after cleaning and polishing/waxing, is something that needs to please you, rather than everyone else. Do a little experimenting with the various brands and methods everyone here has described, and see what you think works best for you.

I was a die hard Meguiars fan prior to learning of Zaino around 2000. I tried NXT with somewhat satisfactory results with shine...but durability was lacky.

The new line of Zaino stuff is great, ZFX, Z2 pro, Z8 etc.

My '04 "Z" has P21S wax on it currently....I plan on claying/Dawn, Zainoing it as I feel the durability is better with Zaino than what is on it.

Zaino is the best.

Trying different waxes and sealants is a hobby of mine and to date I have not found anything that looks as good or last as long as Zaino. It is an awesome product and Sal is improving it all the time.

This is because the word "polish" means something different to the two companies. The Zaino Z2 or Z5 is really a sealant, or a "wax" in the sense that it's the protective step of the process. You can put a wax over it if you want, in the same way you can wax over another wax. But the Z2 or Z5 is intended as a last step.

If you wanted to think in terms of the Meguiar's steps, then ZPC would be the polish step, and Z2 or Z5 would be the wax step.

Well said. I use Zaino on my '97 but there are others out there that will do the job as well. I'm pleased with my results and it is all I've used on the Vette due to numerous recommendations. I also don't find it that difficult to use. It is in the end up to the eyes of the beholder as it were.

After hearing everyone rave about Zaino I had to try it.
Went thru the whole process today on two vehicles and I must say the results were outstanding. I can't wait to put another coat or two on.
The truck looked as good as the day it rolled out of the showroom and the Vette looked better than it has in a while.
