Chris: That looks to me like the car that GM used for their own twin-turbo development. Was in one of the magazines I think maybe 87. Have a copy somewhere. Can't remember GM's nickname for car. Was not a stock shortblock. :lou Ike

The black one has a differnet nose compared to standard, is this also a project car ?

The black one is an 'active suspension' test car. it has a high pressure pump that was used to supply the suspension. it was a good test vehicle for GM, and helped develop the modern suspensions we have now, but the excess heat the pump created, as well as the extreme power drain worked against it.

the higher hood is in place because of the extra heat... you'll also notice vents on the side of the hood too... hope this info helps:)

Hey Josh! good to hear from you!! Been busy with garage but I knew I had the article about that car somewhere 'Feb 86 R&T' Car was a 85 model. Was brought to TRC and ran 200 MPH. It had been there before R&T's fastest cars in America 'Sept 85 R&T' brought by Jim Ingle, a develpment engineer with the Corvette group, and topped the field at 191 MPH. Was a good story and an early look at twin turbo C-4 potential :upthumbs Ike

PS article says 520 HP

Interesting! What event?, location?, year?, etc. was this photo taken. An assortment of vehicles and spotlights for sure.
