Please let me know if you have seen these or if there is a way to confirm who manufactured.

Thanks

Yes they are. Those are Gen II models. Great wheels...are you selling them or going to use them?

Isn't 22lbs per heavy for a Dymag?

Could these be knock-offs of some sort?

What weight were you expecting? They are afterall, a different design than the "other" Dymags ;)

There are a few extra oz's of magnesium om these however, I think you get the idea :eek

LIGHTWEIGHT , for sure!!!!!!!!!!! :upthumbs

I had recently weighed stock '87 (16x9.5) wheels at 22.5 lbs. I doubt those are dymags even though they're 17 inchers.

I remember passing on a single wheel of that design for $250 back in 2004.

Heck, for $250, I could have used it for a hose reel ;LOL

Later on, the buyer had the complete set of four (which that wheel made the set), for sale for $2,500 :W

Those would look Great on my ZR-1 :rotfl

Can anyone tell me are these magnesium like the Callaway version or aluminum?

Seems heavy at 23lbs for the rears.

I have only seen them sold as a magnesium wheel howevwer, the wheel weight was not ever advertised.

Wouldn't that be interesting if after all this time, that (wheel) design offered no advantage over a lightweight forged alumn. wheel :W

It is a VERY good looking wheel!

...now where did that old Mid America ad go? ;squint:

I cannot help with your question but, those are some very sharp looking wheels.

I'd just point out that 23 lbs would be quite light for cheap knockoff aluminum wheels in 17x11". I believe "quality" cast aluminum wheels like from American Racing tend to be in the 26+ lbs range for a wheel of that size.

It's possible those thick spokes and the huge flange add up to a 23 lbs cast magnesium wheel I'd think?

If light weight is the goal, maybe you can trade for some "gen I" Dymags which seem to be lighter. Or sell them as they generally are in hot demand, and buy some nice forged aluminum wheels? The Challenge Dymags came in ZR-1 offsets I believe, so no spacer would be needed on the 17x11" rear wheel.

The Challenge Dymags are run by more than a few ZR-one'rs - In fact, there is a guy around me, that has a few sets, one for each of his ZR1's and the last set he bought, set him back $4,000 and was considered a DEAL!

The wheel I almost bought in Effingham, was a display wheel and when I picked it up, it did not seem as light as the Callaway/Corvette Challenge Dymags which are competition proven :cool

Is he going to be out of town any time soon? And also can I borrow a crowbar?

I sometimes wish I'd jumped on the set Frank sold (the gunmetal ones) for $3k. They are cool wheels for sure. But that's an awfully pricey way to lose 30 lbs.
