I am thinking about getting it and want to hear from someone who has experience with it first. Anything you can tell me would be great. Thanks in advance.

Conversion Costs.

Hi

If you don't mind me asking, what did the conversion cost and would you have been better off selling your 96LT1 and buying a LT4. Or buying a 99 C5 give or take a year or two.
My 96 LT1 is bone stock with the perf rear 3:07 with 45,000 miles,
which to me is very high mileage, but in very good condition. You would probably call it mint but l'm very picky.

Alan

I am very happy with the conversion. I currently run 12.5 @ 111 on street tires at the track. I am putting about 420hp out at the engine, but if I had it all over again, I would go to More Performance in Charlotte and have them drop a 396 in instead. The 396 cost more, but you would get alot more hp and tq plus a 1 year warranty.

At the risk of getting back on the subject...I will probably get autotap with the extended codes for father's day. If no one else answers, I will after I play with it awhile.

I too would like to know more about it, and will most likely get one before long to work on my Impala SS

I have the ODBII GM extended codes version and like it a lot. Now I don't have experience with other vendor's stuff so I cannot compare. I guess you could say that it is only worth it if you can use it and understand it when you do. I figure if it will save me one trip to the dealer it will pay for itself. The logging function is pretty cool. You can drive around and log sensor information and other engine data from the computer. This can then be used as a baseline to compare with when there is a problem also.
