Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

average weight of a 80-82 vette?

I believe most would be around 3200-3600 lbs. I am not positive but...

Curb Wight without any options:

1980 = 3,336
1981 = 3,307
1982 = 3,342

tom...

FYI curb weight for:
1953 = 2886
1962 = 3065
1963 = 3015
1967 = 3155
1968 = 3210
1977 = 3534
1978 = 3572
1979 = 3503
1980 = 3336
1981 = 3307
1982 = 3342
1984 = 3192
1995 = 3203
1996 = 3298
1997 = 3221

My 80 fully loaded from factory was 3206 lbs. as stated on title.
Now its 2800 lbs. They lightened them up in 80 for EPA standards.

"Title Weight" is for the base car, no options, in "as-shipped" condition, which is two gallons of gas. "Curb Weight" adds a full tank of fuel to the base car "as-shipped" weight.

Guess I'll go tell the grain elevator the weight scale's are off.
I had it weighed when I bought it, and after I redone the work on it. :hb

-they had it right in 1953...

-but instead of working the weight down toward perfection, they must have hired-in a bunch from Chevy-truck div., as it kept getting worse; --had a '54 in which i installed a hotted-up Cadillac-engine and it only weighed 2,950-lbs but that baby would "gedi'up" (0-60 5-sec.)!! ~Bob vH

You need to talk to JohnZ. How about a '53 with a Nailhead Buick?Check out John's pictures in my engine thread. It's a long one.

YES, I agree JohnZ has built something GREAT.
Took a while to find it. Toast :m

That was back in '59-'60; when the pics were shot, it had 3-2's on it. Shortly thereafter it got a 6-71 blower and dual quads (WCFB's), and ran consistent 12.20's; it was my "Woodward Car", and was runner-up at the 1961 Nationals in "A"-Modified Sport, just before I sold it to buy a '57 Ford station wagon and an open trailer to haul my fueler.
