B-J Auction

OK - Let me try this again:

Just saw the '69 L-88 go for (I think) $ 600 K.

Been watching ths B-J auction since Tuesday; as I said a few days ago -- There is some seriously crazy mopney going around here !

Unbelievable, isn't it?????

I can't imagine what it would be like to drop half a million on a car!!???

I'd have some fun trying though!!!!!!

Makes me feel like mine might be worth at least $100,000 after that...yea right

To much for me but A great price...guess mine is only worth $15,000 after that...oh well

How about the Pontiac that went for 2 million 800 thousand?

the tour bus that went for nearly 5 million (right?)
saw too many to remember for sure

Close Rain. It went for 4 mil!!!!! But whats a million, right? LOL!!

How 'bout the Chevelle for 1.75(?) mil???????

no kiddin - some crazy prices tonight!!!!

and yea, at this stage, whats another cool mill between friends? hahaha

Try this

Most present Corvette owners, and hobbyists alike, have a realistic idea of what their car's are worth on todays market. I really hate the effect that the Barrett Jackson auctions have on owners of past projects that have been abandoned, put aside, or stashed, and now think that their piece of shît is worth a fortune because of the pricing we see at the auction. It kind'a make it hard to find any decent, affordable, projects. :ugh

However why should I complain, with their thinking, my car has just doubled in value. Wait untill you see it, in the next issue of the VBP 2006 catalog. :D

I agree!

These prices paid by foolish buyers drives the price of these cars up and out of reach of the average person. Some out there now think that their run of the mill driver is now worth big big bucks. We know what the current market will bare for a nice driver but unfortunately some out there won't and unfortunately it will increase the overall prices.
I feel for the dad who would like to find a project for he and his son and now the prices are too high and going higher putting them out of reach.

Just my 2 cents,

Mike

I agree 100% with the above comments about B-J auctions.

What makes a 70 Chevelle worth 1.75 mil???? ANd yet another one went for 400K. Joe Byrne is probably right, it's all in the eye of the beholder. Me & my son (14) were going to start looking for a project car this spring, but I don't know now. I may hold off for awhile and see what happens.

If I were smart, I would have taken my 2000 Harley Davidson softail Springer that I sold last Feb. with only 1429 miles on it, and sold it at B-J for a cool 200K!!! ;LOL

PS. Rain, if you need that cool million, just ask. I'll print some up for ya!!!!!

The announcer just said that you can really feel good ONLY spending between $50,000 to $70,000 on a decent automobile....maybe I have been making mininum wage for the last 30 years and don't relize it

Something tells me that this is just another form of "reality TV".

There is nothing real about it.

At the end of the Speed Channel coverage, they announced approximately 100 MILLION in sales over the 6 days of the auction.

100 MIL. Absolutely amazing. Chuck

reality or not someone Craig Jackson some money. 8% for the buyer and seller. It was fun to watch.
