Linda just wants to know who is showing up a few days beforehand to help get the house clean enough to have people over so we aren't completely embarrassed......... and other people to help me with the yardwork in my overgrown and wild beds that have gotten far too much ahead of me (I HATE weeding!) ;LOL

she also says we can supply sandwiches from Capriotti's - a great hogie shop (for all you people not originally from NJ, a Hogie is a Sub ;LOL ) but it's definately BYOB :D

We're close to being on thin ice on the hoagie issue. I'm from the Philly area and grew up on hoagies (originally named for the workers on Hog Island in the Delaware River who took these humongous sandwiches with them in their lunch boxes). It's all in the roll. If it's not Amoroso's (a local Phila bakery), it's got to prove itself. Crunchy crust, soft on the inside. I may have to stop by to make sure Capriotti's does it right!
And congrats on getting Baby back. I've been lurking and following the saga. Next winter or spring, I'll be doing the striptease and repaint on my '66 (also Milano Maroon, but a 'vert). What I've learned on the Forum has convinced me that I can at least strip it myself (to save some cash).
Cheers!
PS - I'll bring my work gloves and help you with the weeding. It's theraputic and doesn't require thinking...

Alps, first off, welcome to CAC :CAC

of COURSE Capriotti's uses Amoroso's rolls! there is no other kind that comes close. :D

You and my sister both actually enjoy weeding - just proves there really are some sick people in this world.............. ;LOL

Another Milano Maroon C2! YAH!
we want to see pics of your car

Amorosos! Then it's definitely a hoagie, and not a sub or a hero. Thanks for the welcome. I'll see what I can do about posting some photos (even though it's a safe bet you all know what an average '66 vert looks like). It's got a good three foot paint job, but that's not good enough for me. It looked great when I bought it in Jan, but it's now apparent that it was repainted to sell, with hasty prep. With the warmer weather, I've noticed some blistering as well as some stress cracks on the hood that were apparently buried under the new paint. There's a bunch of other work I need to do as well. Details, details, details. I've waited for this car since I was a teen (in the '60s) and have the rest of my life to deal with it. In the meantime, I'm just lovin' it!
It's a matching numbers 427/390 (except for the carb) with a chambered exhaust. Nearly everthing is original (although the brakes are stainless and I installed a dual master cylinder for safety considerations. I also replaced the Firestone bias ply goldlines with Coker radials on repro knockoffs. Amazing that any of us survived driving on bias ply tires!). I'd love to eventually think about NCRS judging, but some yo-yo in the past sprayed the entire undercarriage, which will likely require a body-off restoration to correct. If BJ keeps driving up the prices over the next few years, it might be economically feasible. If not, I'm still in love, and it doesn't matter. Cheers!

Great new avatar, heaven. Now can we get back to talking about the party? Did someone mention striptease?...I'll be there. Carlisle approaches, so a pre-party might be good.

Consider this your 4 weekend countdown, guys. Yes, heaven, I still want the parts:D

Whoops! Nothing like being the new kid on the block and sticking your foot in your mouth. Your car is a beauty and I didn't mean to offend! Afraid mine wasn't done so meticulously. I was just thinking in terms of NCRS, should I ever go that route. Now that I've become a bit more familiar with the Vette culture, I wonder whether I would have been better off getting something with a NOM so that the NCRS devil wouldn't be lurking in the back of my mind. :W
On the bright side of things, the humidity was down in the Philly area and it was a great weekend for crusin'. Love the feel of the wind in my hair (except I don't have any!) :L
As an aside, I picked up my 18 yr old son from his ice cream scooping job to drop him at a friend's (young lady's) birthday party. When I pulled up, the other scoopers tripped over themselves at the door to oogle over the car. When I dropped him off, the brithday girl came running out and demanded a ride as a birthday present. Of course, I obliged. What I wouldn't have done for such a chick magnet when I was 18! She proceeded to rave about how much she loves the older Vettes over the newer ones. Who says that mid-years will go out of fashion when us old guys are too senile to drive them?
Cheers!

Too funny Bob. At least he was kind and only called you a yo-yo, other more descriptive names come to mind. I bet the bottom of Alps66 car doesn't look like the bottom of 67Heaven.
