Went and checked my 96 C4 Collectors edition the other day when we had a little bid of warm weather, and when I turned the key , nothing but clicks. My battery tender has been showing the green light. I then disconnected the battery and hooked up my battery charger, let it set overnight, hooked it back up and tried it again, nothing.
I guess Im in need of a new battery. Im thinking about an interstate. I was thinking about an AC Delco but can't afford the extra $$ at this time.
Is there any way to check the battery tender ??
I took off the fin to get to the battery, no big deal. Can't wait to get the new battery and listen to her purr again.

I've been using Interstates for several years. Had bad luck with Delco and Die Hard. I did have a battery tender fail, they replaced it free. I guess you could call them and ask about testing it, or possibly they'd just replace it with a later model.

thanks for the advice , I've been looking for the interstate MTP-75, but all I can find so far is the MT-75, Im sure that will be adequate. As for the battlery tender I guess I'll try to send it back. I've had it for four winter's now and never had a problem. In the past I always tried to start the vette up and run till the oil heated up, but I didn't do it thiss winter because its been such a cold and long on.

I had a Code Alarm security and remote system installed. When I stored the Vette in a rented warehouse for the winter I would drive by in the Jeep, shut down the Jeep, and start the Vette with the remote. I could hear it start up and it would run by itself for 20 minutes. I did this weekly. I never had to get out in the cold. Now I put the Vette in the garage and leave the Jeep outside. It has a remote start too and i can warm it up before going outside. I love technology. When it works, it's great.

You might consider removing the battery from the car, charging it overnight then testing it with a volt meter to make sure it's the battery / charger and not a ground short (or something else) in the car. Also, I had a brand new Optima that I kept on the work bench as a back up but, I let it go too long without recharging it. I found out the hard way that if they sit too long and loose too much juice, they won't re-charge. Ju$t $omething el$e to con$ider . . .
