NotSlo please post what the shop says re: that engine, I've got the same one. Would be good to know what happened.

They are not sure why the rod bent. It was only bent a little but enough to rub on the head. For what it's worth I am not a gentle driver. I drive her hard and she responds. I am not surprised I ended up with a problem, I'm just glad it wasn't worse!

If I get more info from I will post it for sure.

How many miles on the engine? Mods? I drive hard too, wondering if It's a weak point.

I was dropping my 8 year old off to school. He loves to ride in the Vette!

I have had a slight valve tap for the last 2 weeks and thought it just might have been some crappy gas. It didn't seem to be getting worse, until Tuesday morning.

Miles are 77k, oil changed every 3k with Mobil 1 5W30.

Here is how clean the engine is

Not sure what would cause this but I will be quizzing the mechanic. Anybody else have an idea why this would happen?

That's a puzzle. Is it gonna run ok if they fix just the one? You know balance etc. ?

I'll bet your kid just loves getting a ride to school in your Vette. What grade is he/she in @ 8 yrs old?

When I give my teenagers a ride they always want the Vette over the Suburban.
