Best intake (bang for the buck)

I am going to change the intake system on my '98 C5 during the winter layup:cry .

I have been looking at the Halltech Stinger as it comes with the bridge, the coupler and the filter for only about $240.00 --- including shipping. They claim the same increase in flow as the "Trap" -- over 25%, and five minute installation, cleanable --- etc. etc. etc. You can type in Halltech Stinger on eBay and it will take you right to a couple of them....
Is there something I am missing here, or is this a great deal on a good filter? I have read the other threads about "seat of the pants" increases in HP with aftermarket filters, and none of the manufacturer claims on any of the filters should be taken as gospel --- however, MY backside and ear tells me that the stock filter assembly seems to choke down the engine above 4K.
Anyone have any experience with the Halltech? Ease of installation, increase in ET or HP (again, probably SOTP) would be appreciated.
I am also going to change fuel filter, spark plugs and ignition wires....so in addition to the filter info, if anyone has the "inside" line on a package like this that seems to work for them, I'd like to hear from you....

How difficult is the install for the Honker?

Thanks, Ron

Honker (i read) is very easy to install.. and as with most of these intakes, avoid flooded intersections (yes, SOME folks still drive their vettes in the rain and occasionally thru flooded streets and then wonder why they have water thru the intake)

So, back to the real question here....

Does anyone have any experience with the Halltech Stinger?????

How about the Hurricane???? I love the way my car screams to life but I have never had anything to compare it to. :lou

Glenn,
I have one on my '04 MN6 and its the best $200 (at the time) that I've spent. The installation shouldn't take more that 30 minutes ONCE YOU GET THE MAF SENSOR OUT OF THE STOCK AIRBRIDGE. Seriously, mine was stuck in there pretty good. The SOTP results are significant. I had no "learning issues" with mine. I have another awaiting installation on the BW's '99 vert.
It is truly the best bang for the buck. I'd get a hood seal as well - good for 2.3 rwhp too.
