the best - funniest - line i heard this weekend goes to Theresa - Subfixers very nice wife.

I had Baby parked in the '63-'67 registry area and happened to be directly behind the Mid-America display where they had a couple of C6's and a C5 with some aftermarket exhaust systems.
Whenever a customer wanted to hear a particular exhaust system they would fire up and rev these cars. This went on all day and we were getting tired of hearing it. As nice as they sounded compared to the stock C5/C6 systems these aftermarket exhausts don't even begin to compare to the great sound of our midyears that have sidepipe exhausts.

so....... during one of their "rev-it-up" demo's Theresa fires back that it sounded like a "Baby Corvette" ;LOL ;LOL ;LOL

Actually, by Sat afternoon I got tired of hearing it so during one of their demos I calmly waked over to my car, climbed in, turned the key and rev'd up Baby with her side pipes and I think that pretty much killed the Mid-America's demo! :D

Love that story, Barry! Good going!:D

I stopped by to see Baby Sat morning. Real nice to meet you (and her) after reading so many of your posts. At the time, you had her fired up checking the idle. I didn't hear no stinkin' C-5/6s behind you - only the sweet thunder of Baby passing gas... ;) She's a beaut!
My car has a chambered 'tuchas' exhaust. Nearly as sweet as side pipes but without the need for ear protection. Most of the sound stays behind. I find it to be a nice trade-off. I SAID, I FIND IT TO BE A NICE TRADE OFF. ;LOL
Keep 'er purring... Cheers!

yeah, that's I feel after a 20 minute ride in Baby!
;LOL

Glad you stopped by!

you sure I was REALLY checking the idle, or was I just pretending to check it as an excuse to fire her up to blow away the C5/C6 exhaust demos behind us...........?? :D

BTW, any C4-C6 owners reading this, I don't mean to be cutting down on your cars, I love them also, I'm making joking fun only on the Mid-america exhaust system demo display only. Although........... the best car "music" in the Vette world really is a midyear with sidepipes :)

Might have known you were having a bit of fun with the Mid-America guys!
Re: the C4-6s, I agree. No disrespect intended (to any respectful owner who will wave, of course...). :w I wouldn't mind owning a Z-06 someday, after someone else takes the hit on the depreciation, that is.
Cheers!

There's nothing wrong with the sound of a C3 with sidepipes either! Even a "small block!" :D

excuse me Erik, you are correct, a C3, especially an early one, with side pipes is also a joy to listen to. Just like a midyear, it's the sound that I really equate to a true muscle car - SB or BB. :beer

I'd love to add an early chrome bumper C3 air vert w/ side pipes to the garage sometime next to my '65.

Buy it now! The prices for the chrome C3s are going up fast.

would love to - want to give me the $$$$............... :D

I'd love to but I'm saving up for toys of my own. . . unfortunately that's not going too well as the wife and kids spend faster than I earn. . .
