Best method to change your own oil?

The one thing I haven't seen is that the filter should be filled with oil before it is put on so the engine will not run dry until it is filled.

I too have never heard of filling the filter before installing. I did it anyway, it certainly cannot hurt.

The K&N has the advantage in the sense that you won't need an oil filter wrench because it has a 1" hex on the bottom of the filter.

If that's the main reason for buying K&N, what a rip!!

You can buy a cup type of filter wrench for $2.00 and wind any filter off, including a FRAM.....
