Black Steering Wheel ('87) can it be dyed?

Hello All...

I have a 87 convt. .... some of the black on the steering wheel has rubbed off. the steering wheel is in perfect condition other than some areas where the color has rubbed off. My question... i used to dye my dress shoes with blk dye and then "shine" them.... can this be done to my steering wheel..??

John, a year ago I re-dyed the seats in my 94 and they turned out pretty good (IMO). The company I used, leatherique.com had a special kit for doing just what you are asking about. Go out to their site and read, I think you'll be convinced that this is the way to go.
