instrument lights not going on. i located the fuse box and on the bottom there's a small fuse labeled "inst" and something else, can't remember, but i'm pretty sure that'd be the fuse. right? that being said, is this something i can get at any local parts store? when i change it, do i need to disconnect the battery or anything? or just go in there with a screwdriver and remove? sorry, this is my first!!!! ;help

Your local store should have a selection of replacements fuse, they're not a unique to Corvette part. A handy to have tool is a fuse puller, its a molded plastic piece with a hook on one end with older style fuses like ours, and a gripper tool on the other end for newer cars.

Much easier and safer to use than stabbing a screwdriver in the fusebox.

If you do use a screwdriver, I suggest disconnecting the battery for sure...As Mike said, very easy except for the position you need to be in to do it...lol.
