brake booster vacuum valve ?????????

I have an 89 vette and I am in the process of changing my cracked brake booster. I have read some books, and it seems that there is suppose to be a one way check valve in the booster line in between the mainifold to allow a one way vacuum? I did not have one when I removed my lines, do I need to install one and if so, where would I get one??

Where the hose goes into the booster is where the valve is....should be kinda white looking connector with ridges on it that goes into the booster, the check valve is inside the connector.

So the valve is located on the booster itself?? If so, when I get the new booster, i do not need to buy the valve?? Thanks

Ok...maybe I was not clear....

There is a hose connected to the booster. This is a vacuum hose that comes from the intake. At the end of the hose is a connector that is inserted into the booster through a hole with a grommet on it. The connecter is usually white. it is a 90° elbow connector, the hose on one end and the other end is inserted into the booster. This connector is the check valve. If you look into it you will see a rubber flap that will allow the booster to pull vacuum but not let it return into the intake. When you remove the hose from the booster the check valve usually remains attached to the hose.
