Stock vs. stock, which brake system stops better, the system on a 1998-2002 Camaro Z28 or on a 1996 Corvette with the heavy duty (13 inch) rotors?

Probably need to dig out some old car mags that show tests of these 2 cars and check the 60-0 distances.

BTW, all 96 Vettes came with the 'big' brakes. The things that might make a difference in the test results are the different suspensions and whether the 96 Vette had the 'big' front tires (Z51).

What about the weight difference? We'd have to take that into account, right?

Yeah, I was thinking about the weight difference. I found some 70 to 0 numbers from Car and Driver for a 99 Camaro Z28 (3443 pounds) and a 96 Grand Sport ( ??? pounds). The Corvette stopping distance was 164 feet and the Camaro was 182 feet.

Of course the Z28 has 16 inch wheels and the Corvette has 17 inch wheels with huge tires.

I guess maybe this is an apples to oranges comparison. In other words, it is difficult to compare the two.
