Can they be welded back on the factory headers? The smog pump and air tubes were all disconnected when I bought 10 years ago. The passenger side is actually broken off the factory headers and screws have been screwed in to block leaks (nice work bubba!). I was contemplating putting new headers on but realized the 81 factory header style exhaust manifolds aren't too shabby. I was thinking if I don't repair the tubes I could always weld up the holes, sand and paint them. Kind of getting away from originality though. What do you guys think?

they are stainless so they should be in okay shape other than the broken tubes right? if you still have the tubes they should be easy to weld back on. if you dont have them you should be able to have someone at a muffeler shop weld new tubes according to a picture. you will probably need to remove them though and that will take a moment. i did mine and it was no problem. they can be made to look nice again and even perform better while still bolting up stock gear. theyll fit and wont leak.:thumb
