I'm looking a 1998 C5, it's in nice shape except the drivers seat back appears to be broken. When I sit in the seat the left bolster seems to move back and forth with the motions of the car and it feels like the seat back is crooked eg. offest to the left. I ran a search, but the only thing I found was the seat adjuster problem, but I understood that to mean the seat cushion, not the back correct? The car has the memory for the driver seat. Other than that it is fairly pristine. Is the seat back problem endemic to these cars? Thanx in advance. Jeff

welcome to CAC, someone who knows more than me will chime in soon, but here is my idea: get some nice racing seats and leave the heavy stock seats on ebay for somebody else to worry about.

HI there,
Is this common? well, only if the owner drags across the side bolster and breaks the side wing.
It does happen, and its about $400 to fix.
However, it really only happens if your not careful.

Thanx for the response, I passed in the car and I just bought a pristine 99 coupe with 13K on it. Thanx, Jeff
