I have a radio from a 1970 vette that I am trying to bench test. I put 12.0 volts DC to the input and ground it properly. I have a 10 ohm original working speaker. I get twelve volts to go thru the radio and come out of the wire harness that feeds the convector/amplifier. I can also make the light inside the radio come on. I get an ohms reading at the speaker wire but not enough to drive the speaker or even make the cone move in and out. My Question is " do I need to have the convector/Amp hooked up to verify that I have a working radio or not " .? Or am I doing something wrong ? it is a mono am/fm radio.Ant thoughts would be helpful.............Thanks

The convector is the final audio output. You need it to be able to hear audio through the speakers.
