1966,and a 1962 thats almost complete
I am selling off my RUSTY frame and the parts I will not be using with the car. Imagine this car has been off the road since 1976 and not stored properly. So its all rusty

Anyway a fellow wants to purchase whats not being used.

1-frame
2-entire front suspention
3-entire rear suspention
4-gauge cluster ?
5-steering collum
6-steering wheel
7-motor mounts on the frame
8-maybee both front seats
9-maybee entire heating controls and heater section
10-master cylender
11- rear axle if its a posi (how do I know its a posi)

Any C1 guys know what I should be getting paid for these?

I ask this only because a freind gave me some C2 parts this summer and in the box was a 66 Power brake master cylender that he had No idea of how valuble it was untill I pointed it out to him.So I just dont want to leave any money on the table with the deal I may be making to sell off all of these uneeded parts for my project

OK, I'll take a stab at it, assuming the items are usable, restorable, or rebuildable:

1. Frame - $1K-$2K

2. Front Suspension - $500

3. Rear Suspension (springs only - not the axle) - $200

4. Gauge Cluster - $300-$500

5. Steering Column & Gear, with upper bell & switch - $300

6. Steering Wheel - $300 restorable with no cracks, $100 otherwise.

7. Motormount Brackets - $100

8. Seats - $500 if restorable (just the frames and adjusters)

9. Heater & Controls - $300, plus $100 if the blower switch works.

10. Master Cylinder - $250-$300 if it's the correct "small 022" casting

11. Rear Axle - $500 (If it's a Posi, it'll have a large thin-section "P" cast-in on the driver's side of the pumpkin adjacent to the casting number and date).

Other opinions/estimates may vary :D

Thank You John

I have to up load the rest of my photos. For a beter idea

The rear section of the frame is un-useable. So I think it would be considerable less.

But on the rear end am I looking casting numbers on the center section or on the rear axle it self. and is it on the back side of it (side closes to the rear bumpers or on the front side of it

Master cylender how do I know if its the small 022 ?

Thanks Again

The person I am selling it to it is making it real easy for me to sell him every thing with one visit and its gone from my house. So I am really just double checking things.

Larry,

Keep in mind that the prices John is talking about are what a end user would pay. I would suspect that the buyer that you have looking at your parts would probably be willing to pay less than half of these ammounts. The frame is worth very little since almost every frame rusts in the same place and there is very little demand for front frame sections. The master cylinder will have a casting # on it that ends in 022. On your year car, the "022" should be larger than the rest of the #, but even if it has the small 022, it is still valuable, it is just for an earlier car. If the master cyl in not an original Delco unit, then it is almost worthless.
You can probably do much better by selling it off a little at a time on Ebay, but you might as well see what he offers.
Regards, John McGraw

Here is my variation from 2 years of browsing ebay, but John Z has infinitely more expertise than me. I listed only the items I differ on.

1. Frame - $2K - 2.5K many of these can be repaired often rusted out just ahead of the rear wheel well and at the rear cross member

3. Rear Suspension (springs only - not the axle) - $100 if not cracked or broken

8. Seats - $700+ if restorable

11. Rear Axle - $700 if posi

Transmission crossmember $50

I sold the original grooved rear springs out of my 62' for $600 at Carlisle last year. I got $400 for axle housing, axles, and backing plates. $550 for 63 dated P case 3.70 posi.

I bought a whole front suspension for $275 on ebay

I think the gauge cluster is worth $750+ with all gauges and speedo. The guy next to me at Carlisle sold a speedo for $375 and 1 of the small guages for $250 on Friday. Both could have used restoring

Complete 61-62 seats that are'nt rusted will bring at least $1200

As for Id'ing the rear you are looking for a large P on the drivers side of the center section. Although that does not guarantee its still a posi. There is also a vent tube on a posi rear housing

I also sold a set of radius rods with new bushings for a $100

If the rear sway bar set-up is in good condition you should also be a ble to get around $200 for that.

Bob

Thanks for all of the replies.

It does have a posi unit With all of the information I have I am going to contact the fellow and have him raise his offer. I do know I should sell the parts on ebay. But I will probably take the easey route out and sell to him

Thanks Again
