Just upgraded from my 81 C3 to a 2000 Torch Red C5 with Black interior!

WOW, what a difference!!! And a 6 speed to boot! I LOVE IT!

I couldn't turn it down:

13,100 miles, polished wheels, targa top, 6way seats, flowmaster exhaust, plus other cool options...

All for 25K. I think I did well.

Anyway, I noticed here that many of you use the word "vert" here. I gotta ask the stupid question...."what's that referring to?".

Look forward to talking to you all..

Flying Ace,

Congratulations! And welcome to the C5 section. That sounds like a very nice deal, and naturally we would love to see pictures. The 6 speed is a wonderful thing, isn't it? :D

Did you keep your 81? I think the 81's have some really eye-catching lines.

"vert" refers to convertible.

Tammy

I hope you kept the C-3.....:D

Tammy,

Thanks! and....DUH!!! conVERTible, how stupid can I be..?

Anyway, yes, I still have th 81 but I think I'm going to let her go. It's a shame because I just dumped a bunch of $$ in a complete interior that I didn't get to put in yet. The shark body is cool, but I've always had my eyes on the C5's since they came out and now I'm finally in one.

Hopefully someone out there wants a "rolling restoration". Body and Mechanicals are good and the interior is MINT (in boxes).

Flying Ace,

There is no stupidity or dishonor in asking...only in wondering in silence.

(Do I sound like Confucious? :L)

Ahhh, so, Ms Shroder. There is much wisdom in the question.
I wrestled with the term FRC for much longer than I should have. I thought it was some FORD lingo.:L

Flying Ace, I upgraded from a C3 to C5 last Sept. It's so much fun I can't stand it!

Pete.

Hi Flying Ace -

Congratulations!

C3's are nice cars, C4's are better cars, but C5's are great cars.

Just my opinion mind you....

best regards -

Keeping the C3!

After some thought, Why not have two vettes?!?

I'm keeping the C3!:J

Congrats!!! I upgraded from a c4. What a difference! Not my favorite body style,(c4) but I got a heck of a deal. Now a c3 is a very stylish looking vette. My 93 reminded me a bit of a firebird. The c5 got back to the rounded flowing lines of the c3. Anyway, keep the 81.

One of the reasons (excuses?) I had for getting the Y2K C5 was that my wife could not drive my 6 speed '96 LT4. The Y2K is automatic and I will truly miss that 6 speed.

More Than Zero

Although I am not a member of the club, I am a supporting member. Retrieval and Condolance Unit. I looked for a T-top in the tall grass for 20 minutes with a guy until we found it. Fortunately in one piece. The latches are there for a reason.:D

I'm lucky that way mine is one of the vert edditions so I am FRC proof, but it dose make an intresting noise if you forget the latches :)

Congrats, Flying Ace!!!!!!

I also upgraded from an 80 shark to an '03 Torch Red w/black interior C5. The only thing I miss about the C3 is the look. No other vette has that style! But the C5 sure is an incredible automobile!!!

Good luck and post pics!!!!
