Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

C3's called sharks, how about C4 called falcons?

Where I came from (OZ) we called all the sharks "DISCO VETTES" cause it seemed that all the polyester leisure suited, gold chain wearing, John Travolta wannabees had one. :_rock (No offense guys!!) As for C-4's called Falcons, Krikey that's a Damn ford product!! I do like the Big Butt for the C-5 however. C-6's you can just call a Viper as far as I am concerned. My Dad use to call all Vettes "Motel Cars" cause you couldn't do the deed in one and had to get a motel room!! ;) ( I have proved that theory wrong though in the past.):crazy

So what do we call a C-4? I like Tomcats but the car is kinda star war like. Maybe R2D2??:W

Wait a minute here... are you guys ashamed of your corvette being called a vette or a C4 ? I sure don't want to tell people I own a falcon...the word brings back memories of a little junk ford. :L I own a Vette not an airplane not a bird not a fish . It is a Corvette nothing less. When asked what I drive I get to say " A Vette" :cool

:BOW:v :w

If you don't call a "vette" a "vette" then most people won't even know what youre talking about any more:L

I know many people that don't even understand what c1, c2, c3, c4, c5, or c6 stand for:L

You got that right. Mention a C# to a none vette person and they just look at you:ugh . Mention that you have a 19## vette and then they get the picture:cool .

H.D.

Nicknames for Corvettes
C3 Shark or Coke Bottle or just plain Sexy
C4 Plastic Firebird or Creak & Moan (Snap, Crackle and Pop was already taken)
C5 Big Ass Ham or Burtha Butt-mobile or J-Lo GT
C6 Imported Ham or Oops! We forgot the front plate mount or C5's Ugly Cousin

:D

The C4 should be called "The Rattler" Not because of a quick strike, but see previous (bluecoupe) message.

Cool. Yep. can't wait either. Since I didn't get to go to CruseFest, this will have to be the fun trip. We need to see if we can get a big group togather and meet at the Resturant (is it the Mountain gate or what?) for breakfast that sat morning and all of us cruze to Carlisle. Hey, did you get a ticket to park on the Fairgrounds? I did.

Talk to you later and see if you can find Twitty. He works over at that construction company Dulawuer (sp).

That would be cool to get a bunch of cars to meet up at the Mountain Gate and head out from there.

If anyone in Central MD is planning on going to Corvettes @ Carlisle and want to meet up in Thumont MD, PM me and we can see what we can do.

Nah, but it makes a entertaining message thread.

When I tell people that I drive a Vette, they ask me what is her last name.... ;)

True, it looks like Chevy has also made C5, C6 a trademark but not the C4. Check the back of the front cover of any Mid-America Catalog and you will see their disclaimer on their uses.

Ok, how does "Techvette" sound since it was the first of the Hi-tech Corvettes?
