Folks,
Can I get some basic instructions on replacing the passenger side headlight which is burnt out. This is for a friend who tried but only threw off the alignment of the bulb so obviously he's not turning the right screws. I own a C3 so I'm not much help...

thanks much...

Arggh! I just did this last night to the same headlight. Strangely enough, after I put the new one in, it didn't work either. Turned out that somehow the headlight got unplugged down by the radiator reserve tank????:confused How that happened is beyond me because it a plug with a clip. But check this first

Anyway, for your friend......there are four little phillips screws almost at every corner of the headlight. Once these are removed, there is a chrome bracket that will come off allowing to easily remove and unplug the old headlight. Then, plug the new one in, place the metal trim back over the new headlight and screw the 4 screws back in. The screws on my car were very tight to get out......I had to use my air compressor to get them out. Hopefully you can just turn them with a screwdriver

Don't mess with the screw underneath the headlight and to the right of the light. These are to adjust the direction of the beam.

ZR-Won, you must have a different setup than I do. I had to remove the headlight housing (by disconnecting the motor, manually turning the up/down alignment knob until I could reach the screws, and removing the screws on the top-front of the housing). Only then could I get to the ones that held the trim ring in.

It was a tight sqeeze to do it with the housing on but I managed to slip my small screwdriver in between the housing the trim ring to get at the screws. On my last one, I accidentaly dropped one of the attachments in the housing and had to remove it anyway.

Jon, that's a great link. The outside screws are a bear to get to.....it took me a while. I like that idea of flipping them half way.

yea, the big manual adjuster will let you put the housing in a position where you can get to the phillips head screws easy.

then its a piece of cake!

Isnt this place cool!!!!!

I just added the headlight conversion kit to my 93 last night, another way to get the headlights to the half way position is switch the light switch to the headlight position, and when the lights are at the half way point, switch it to the parking light position. they will then stay there until you move the switch again either way. I was worried about the battery, but I had my parking lights on the whole time I changed both bulbs and she started right back up, no prob.

By the way, conversion kit looks great with the sylvania silver stars!!!
