C5 automatic (A4) adapter

Has anyone used the C5 automatic (A4) adapter? I installed it with a knob from Ecklers. Depending on the after market knob or ball you use will depend if it is higher than your stock knob. When I finished installation it was about ¾ inches higher. Is there any way to get a kit or to fabricate a way to make it lower and still use the after market shift. Drilling the knob only helps a little. Any ideas will be appreciated.

can't really see any way around the height "problem"... good product tho..
