yes, dumb question

But I am trying to find some basic tire and wheel info for C5s.

#1 How do I find out my wheel sizes? (orig. owner replaced stock witih HRE 547 wheels) I know they are 19" fronts and 20" rears. Where can I find width?

#2 Once I know my wheel sizes, is there a chart that tells me what size tires I can mount on them? ie. 285/30/20 are on there now, will a 295 or larger size fit. Trying to cover all of my options before buying new rears.

Thanks for any guidance you can pass along

Call tire rack. They will give you all the answers quick. Just off the top of my head, I think you could run a 295/25 rear but that does'nt leave too much sidewall and always keep in mind that the more you decrease sidewall hieght you will also decrease ride quality. Definately call Tire Rack or the equivalent, and please post us the answers.

Most wheels I've looked at recently have the size molded or stamped on the inside of one of the spokes.

You can always stick a tape measure through the wheel and measure the width - not the most accurate but it will get you in the ballpark.

yes, going to pull one of em later today and look for a marked size.
THEN I will start my search for new rear wheels.
I know what you mean re: sidwall height and ride quality.
These Yoko tires are probably my lowest cost tires, but are a bit noisy and a 30% sidewall does not protect the wheels as well.

#1 Rim width is measured as the distance between the inner lips (where the tire bead meets the wheel), like so:

You should be able to determine it with two straight edges and a measuring tape.

#2 Once you know the sizes, I've found these tire calculators to be useful:
