I thought the following excerpt from Rick Conti on Conti Corvette's web site is kind of interesting:

As of Today, February 21st, the C6 Corvette was shown at an exclusive meeting in Warren,Michigan at the Tech Center. Don't even think of going up that way. Security very tight for even those that work there. Special ID's,Escorts In & Out and magnetic strips to walk through as well. WOW, is this the Corvette we're talking about?....YEP! 8 Cars are complete. One Yellow and Seven White. The new plastic headlights lense house 3 bulbs inside...still quad lights in the rear. Inside is upgraded too, features some type of a CRT screen for vehicle controls.

It's Getting Close

Rob,

I'm starting to get that same tingling I had in 1996 when we were all waiting for a peek at an "actual" C5. It's getting close.

Regards - Remo

I know. I'm really starting to get anxious myself. I love this time right about now! I got into Corvettes shortly after the C4 generation was introduced, so I don't remember what it was like around 1981/1982 when all the hype started to get generated about a next gen. Vette.

I enjoyed it all during the C4/C5 transition, and I think it will be just as exciting during this C5/C6 transition.

From what we've all read, it sounds like the C6 is going to be one hell of a Corvette. I just pray that the exposed headlight design is... favorable/agreeable with me. Like I've said before, I think it's great that they're doing their best to trim weight off the C6 and ditching the popup headlights helps, but personally, I don't find a lot of exposed headlight designs overly attractive these days. Fingers crossed! :D

Rob,

I was into Corvettes when the C3 was introduced so it takes a bit more to get me going these days..... :D

Although I'm unhappy that they're leaving hidden headlights behind, obviously it can be promoted as a return to Corvette's roots - the C1.

Since I have no intention of buying a C6, I guess my opinion doesn't matter (to GM) anyway.
;)

Rob,

Thanks for the info. Rick is a friend of mine and I have purchased all my Vettes from him and he is holding my spot for a C6 (I want one I want one I want one). I will speak with him and if I get any more out of him. I will post it.

"Some Sort of CRT Screen" Come on Just go to Cadillac and you will see the thing smack dab in the XLR dash. No secret here.

Just a little demonstration that there really is nothing new under the sun...... CLICK

LOLOL :L

On another Forum someone said they saw the C6 and claimes the Motor Trend pictures are very close to the C6. It seemed to be a honest person. I sure hope he is wrong!

God I hope it looks a lot better than the MT Drawing. When MT did the C5 drawing they had help from an insider according to the book ACAR. This time I don't think they are close, at least I hope they are not, since R&T had very similar drawings about a year before, and I am not talking about the Photoshop of the Pontiac Solistice either.

I have indeed seen C6 and it is a nice looking car. Just dont expect Huge changes. The body panels are ALL new but the look is familiar just a bit more modern and jazzed up. Check out the Pics in here of the Yellow Photoshop car and you will get the "general" idea where C6 is going.

So you are saying that the jujubee picture is close to the real thing?

Do not mis understand me. This Yellow car has C6 styling direction its not 100% C6. Take a good look at the Moray show car front end. It is similar to this yellow car if you examine it close. This car was designed AFTER C6 was finalized. Take a look at the intake on the Cadillac XLR. The two cars are the same (Hint Hint). Do you think Cadillac wanted that BIG hole in the lower bumper? (hint hint) Nooooo it had to be there for air intake (hint hint). Sooo if the XLR and the Corvette are more or less the same car (hint hint) then Corvette would need what???? A big opening in the same general area (hint hint). Do you see a BIG OPENING in the Yellow JuJubee yellow photoshop car??? I do (Hint Hint) so does the Moray! So what this tells you is that certain design cues of XLR (really a C6) HAVE to show up on C6 period. This is why the JuJubee car made GM bristle because you can only do so much with a big opening in a bumper. Yes the Yellow car is a good look as to how C6 will HAVE to look.

Is this one any better? This was done by a member on another forum.

Well its nicer then the JuJubee pic better then I thought it would look like but still not a total knock out im afraid.

Headlights....

Wow! Clear lenses housing 3 bulbs.......I get the feeling that this C6 is going to resemble a Ferrari 360 Modena.......if so, Schweet!

There's all this talk about how the car is going to look... What about the performance expectations? They're still going with the 350 right? Are they going to get more power? I know a goal is to get a lighter car... Any idea on MSRP?
