C6 Corvette Has Been Seen

Don't Worry the C6 will be fast. The MSRP? I would expect the Cpe to be some $12,000 more then C5 when it arrived in 1997. $49K for the cpe and $54K for the vert. The average prices will be close to $54K for coupe with options and $59K for the vert with options. In my opnion its WAY to much for what the car is. Nissan will be juming up and down for sure.

Wow, that's a pretty big jump in price for the coupe. That's more than a 25% jump in price on the coupe. I may #$@#! a few people off by asking this: Can GM justify a 25% rise in cost?

But as it is, there will be people who will pay it. And what about the higher performance model ala ZR-1, Z06?

The 2003 coupes are already PUSHING at the 50K mark with options already.

Chevy may sell all it can make the first year due to "being new". However, the third and fourth year...discounts and 0% financing for sure. Then is the time to buy. First and second year availability down...no discounts period!

I have indeed seen C6 and it is a nice looking car. Just dont expect Huge changes. The body panels are ALL new but the look is familiar just a bit more modern and jazzed up. Check out the Pics in here of the Yellow Photoshop car and you will get the "general" idea where C6 is going.

BI,

Someone, not on this site, says that they have seen the GM drawings of the C6 at GM. They say the Motor Trend cover rendition (orangish yellow) is dead on. Please tell me they must have looking at some drawings of a design that Lutz rejected. How close is the MT rendering to what you have seen???

I thought the following excerpt from Rick Conti on Conti Corvette's web site is kind of interesting:

I needed to quote this to dispute someone who claims the 4 round tail lights are gone. I can no longer find this in Conti's site. Wonder if he was told to remove it?

Just a little demonstration that there really is nothing new under the sun...... CLICK

Thanks for the memories 67HEAVEN
I grew up right down the street from Motion in the greatest years of the Muscle Car. I worked at the Dodge dealer in RockvilleCenter part time driving the Darts and Superbee's and our Friday night drag strip was a mile stretch down Sunrise Hwy right outside Motion's shop. It just doesn't get any better than that.
