Check out the new C6 DHRS

C6 DHR

Your new C6's door handle's are made of a fade prone plastic.
Don't allow your new C6's door handles to fade to a light gray color

Using the same polymer as the C4 Door Handle Renew Product, you can now
protect and enhance your C6's door handles with the C6 Door Handle Renew Kit
available in Gloss Black, Matte Black and Chrome.

The C6 DHR kit will keep you door handles looking better than new for many years to come and is resistant to fading, moisture, heat, minor scratching and stone damage.

Matte Black shown applied in picture
This new product is availabe from:
Ecklers and Corvette Central
click on the link for additional details

Has anyone even owned a C6 long enough to see if this will be a problem? If it turns out to be any kind of an issue, replacing them with the body colored handles seems like a much better idea.

Headlight protectors

Right in line with door handle renewal products for cars that haven't been on the market more than a few months is "custom" headlight protector film. I came across this while surfing for C6 accessories. You simply apply the plastic film over the exposed headlights of the C6 to provide protection from road rocks and the occasional micrometiorite. And.....get this....it can even be removed anytime you wish!!!!!!!!!! The internet provides such great free entertainment. As P.T. Barnum said..........

Ok, then prove that this is true, which you cannot unless you provide high intensity UV light, in a cubed wavelength. Then , given your NM specification.
Everyone is trying to sell something.:eyerole

personally, can't believe that the door handles are not "body color"

Glad to hear there is protection for meteor showers, seeing how they are so common in California. I hope the stuff comes in 100 feet rolls so I can totally wrap my car.

What I really need is a fully illuminated steering wheel, and a polished titanium muffler bearings set.

C6 Door handle fade.

C4 C5, Specialist:

Do u remember the moldings on the 84 to 90 C4's?

Well.......i am shure that you would agree that they did fade........

The C6 door handles are made of the same plastic as the c4 moldings......

This came from a plastics specialist.

That gives me an idea; "C6 Sunscreen Lotion SPF 999". Apply it liberally and reapply after swimming (err... I mean rain).

HI there,
Yes, 84-90 were very prone to this, no question.
Why not the 91-96?? Because engineering learned from this.
Also, I have dispatched this post to the engineering lead on this.
Lets see what they have to say before I go any further.
If they says its the same, then I will agree. But I just have a very hard time believing that the plastic that they used, which knowingly did fade, was put back into production.

Umhmm...

I think Oldgoat's post about P.T. Barnum's famous quote applies here...

Also, I like the contrast of the black handles against the Mag red color...
