What MPG are you getting on your C6?

Just wondering, I had a C6 Vert the last 4 days (1,700 miles) and got an average of 23.2 MPG.

Later . . . . . .

My first trip (over 500 miles) gave me 28 mpg. My car is a coupe with auto.

Not That Good

After we passed 500, mileage around town is 17 - 18 (can't seem to stay off of it,...heh, heh...:D ), on the highway 26 - 27, average speed 70 mph.

:cool

Just broke 400 miles. Have not been over 55mph yet. Average mpg indicates 17.1.

We did a 500 mile road trip this weekend and got 24.5 mpg, no interstate driving. The previous 8,800 miles we did not track the gas mileage but it seemed like it was pretty good.

You have over 9000 miles on the car !! When did you get it? Is it your daily driver?

Got the car the first week of Sept. but because of the Hurricanes and extra work load from the storms I barely managed to put on 500 miles the first month. Drove out to So. Cal in Oct. then up to the Columbia River Gorge. We came back along the Oregon/California coast. Then out to Yosemite (thats where the avatar pic was taken) and finished up with a ride on the Dragon with the CAC Southeast bunch. The car is just a fantastic trip car. My biggest complaint would be every time we stopped I had to show the car, explain how everything worked, let people sit in it or take pictures standing by the car. Even had a viper flag me down so he could check out the car. I really didn't mind it though, it was fun.

Poor Mileage

I've had my C6 Z51 6Spd for 2 days now, only put about 150 miles on it, mostly around town and am getting terrible mileage: about 15 mpg. Granted, it's around town with only a minor amount of highway, and I have been trying out the power, but it's strange that when I coast with no accelerator, the instantaneous mpg reading only goes up to 67 mph. I'm used to seeing the C5 go right to 99 mpg when coasting. Now that I think about it, it locks right in at 67 max as if that's full scale. Could something be wrong?

What do others get when coasting at around 40-50 mph? :confused

Have 810 mile on my DSOM . Appeared to be "stuck" at 67, also. But recently has gone to 72. My 98 and 00 also went to 99 on steep declines. I guess 400 hp is a drag on mph.

Poor MPG

You don't suppose it's an engine break-in period thing, do you? It's hard to believe the 400HP LS2 engine uses a lot more gas while idling (coasting) than the C5's engine; and the estimated mpg claims aren't really different. Maybe all these fancy electronic gadgets load down alternator! :eyerole

6 shooter,
This has nothing to do with MPG. How is the convertible? I've got one coming (TPW 1/24/05). Specifically, noise level, ride quality etc.. as compared to a C5 convertible. I finally drove a C6 coupe last weekend but having never driven a C5 coupe, there's no frame of reference. Thanks for the info.

C6 Convertible/Roadster improvements are nice.

The C6 Vert is a bit quieter that the C5. The ride is good, but so is the C5's.

The C6 sound system :_rock Rock's. Placement of the rear/trunk speakers from the trunk to behind the seats vastly improves the sound, especially when the top is down. The rear speaker assembly does however stop pass thru capabilities to the trunk.

With this said, we really enjoy our C5 MY/Bk/Bk Roadster and will not be parting with her for quite sometime. :upthumbs

Just got back from an 1800 mile trip to Fl. Overall mpg was 27.1. My 98 and 00 did around 29-31 mpg depending on the season...A/C takes a bite.

Well, that's encouraging. I won't know on mine 'till April after we dig out from all this snow and get rid of the road sand and salt.
