C6 Polished Aluminum Wheels

Does anyone know if the C6 polished wheels are coated or can they be buffed to remove minor surface scratches with tripoli or some other buffing rouge?

i am pretty sure they are clear coated and should be cleaned and treated as if you were dealing with a painted car surface.
