I knew something was loose. I could hear it every time I hit a bump, and I fail to mention it during the days it spend in the shop.

What, exactly, fell off?

The muffler came off the exhaust pipe.

That's unbelievable - I believe you, but normally you can't get the two apart without a torch. I tied to take the two apart when I dropped the entire system for the catback. Could NOT get them apart . Must be Murphy's law.;LOL

I know, I never dropped a muffler before without destorying it. So I asked the dealer why isn't it welded on and they said because it so tight undernear the corvette that they have to be able to take the muffler off without wrecking it to work on the car?
So it happen again and they found the problem, something from the factory was put on broken and it allow the exhaust to move around and disconnect. It does sound like they might have it fixed this time and the two dent's the disconnected end pipes make in the back above them don't look to bad.

Anyhow it back at the dealers, it won't start again for the third time. I make the mistake of going to another crowded restaurant

That's quite a common reason why people clamp their aftermarket systems on there rather than weld. If they end up not liking the aftermarket system, they can remove it without damaging it and sell it for less of a loss than they would take by having to take the grinder to it.
