Latest issue of Motor Trend (June) did a nice “head to head” between the C6 and a Maserati Spyder. Both were convertibles. The following are some notations I pulled from it:

* Vette base $52,245 Maserati base $96,765
* C6 hp 400 Maserati hp 385
* 0 - 60 4.8 0-60 4.8
(Vette noses ahead in quarter mile)
* Vette is no underachiever.
* Vette’s chassis is nicer of the two.
* Driving the two, Vette drew plenty of admiring glances and thumb’s up but with Maserati, hardly anyone looked twice.
* Vette had far less shake and shimmy through steering wheel than Maserati.
* LS2 instantly ready to go when you brush gas pedal.
* Vette is the quietest of the two with tops up.
* Fuel economy: Vette 18/26 Maserati 12/17
* Warranty: Vette 3 years 36,000 Maserati 4 years 50,000 (Boo Vette)

Just thought these hi-lites might be of interest. Thank you Motor Trend.

Very impressive. I am not surprised. I believe Chevy has really done their homework as far as the C6 is concerned. Of course, we have to ignore the front license plate mount or lack of one! :L

With regard to the warranty: some other car builders are playing with extending warranty time periods. IMHO this is just a marketing tool. If you are lucky enough to purchase a car while the longer warranty is offered, that results in a win for you.

We will have to wait to see if the C6 measures up as far as reliability and durability. But what a beautiful Vette!
