Smartass. :L
Fully expecting to get flamed here... the Ford GT is a beautiful car, always has be (GT40)... and great performace to boot. There are a couple of new Mustangs running around town too... they are actually not bad looking. But I haven't seen the interiors yet, and that has always been a huge dissappointment from Ford... well as far as I've ever seen anways.

Now since the rumor is the "Blue Devil" will be a mid-engine derivative of Corvette, perhaps the Ford GT will have a worthy competitor :D

I have already seen three new Mustangs in Enterprise, they look much better than the previous models in my opinion. Haven't been inside one yet, but two friends of mine, (both Corvette Club members) have said that the Mustang interior is much improved for 2005.
We all agreed that the new front facia looks great, harks back to the Mach 1 era, but nobody could recall the specifics on what the back end looked like. Now that I think about it, Corvette drivers probably shouldn't see much of the back end...;LOL

Hell no, not at all! I love the GT, who wouldn't? I like the new 'Stang as well. I've owned two Fox body GTs, and they were great cars, not Vettes, but great cars. It will be interesting to see what they do with the new Cobra, should be a beast. Hello GM, are you listening? Bring back the pony car!!!

I'd buy one of these too: Shelby GR-1 :cool

That is quite the looker! Too bad the car is block the entire view :naughty: . The front fender line and headlight look to come from the BMW Z8...hmm....

That does look like I fun car to hop in.

Anyway, I was looking around for some information on this auto show where they are going to show off the new C6 Z car. I'm not even sure which show its going to be at. Could anyone help me out in this info?

Thanks

I think it's going to be at the NAIAS in Detroit.... January 15th thru the 22nd. But I also read someplace where the 2006 Z is going to be shown on Jan 5th, but I haven't a clue as to where that will be.

Far as I know its going to be unveiled at the Natl. Vette Museum.

It has come to my attention that GM embargoed photos of the C6 Z06 are floating around the web.

A few people who claim they know-all, think it's BS since the photos were within public domain. That is not the case.

As is the policy here that I enforced at the beginning of the year regarding GM embargoed material being posted, those photos of the C6 Z06 are NOT to be posted in these forums under any circumstances prior to January 10, 2005.
Rob --

First let me say thanks for your efforts on the website.

Second, I agree with you that the photos should not be posted. No need to antagonize GM and their zillions of lawyers.

Third, Autoweek ran the photo on the cover of this week's edition with a good article discussing the embargo. Let their lawyers fight with GM's lawyers.

Again, thanks for hosting a great website.

Thanks Zach. Just a correction though - the photo on AutoWeek's cover - is a chop they did. ;)

Thanks Tom, but no need. The pictures are published in AutoWeek and on their web site - so...by posting them here, I don't see how we're doing any harm.

Cool Rob! I personally like the EB Z in the avatar better anyway! Obviously an individual of unquestioned taste and refinement. I bet it's faster too!;)

Hey, who's that knocking on my door? Honey, turn off the lights and hide the kids!! ;LOL

Personally, I like the EB Z...but based upon these C6 Z06 photos, sorry. I like it more than the EB Z. :D

Cool!

Take a look at Edit: Sorry Hib - that site you linked to is pretty gross. I like this one better - complete with comments from the competition. :L - Rob

Some of what's there starting showing-up elsewhere in the last day or so. These are the first "spy" shots I've seen that are the real deal.

When, you go look at the homepage for that site, you see it's a nothintg forum. I couldn't find any posts there relating to the Z06...but I didn't join and log-in to the pornography section.

Clearly, these are GM sanctioned images. You wouldn't have an image of the C5R in the background in a spy shot.

Obviously, GM has a big security problem or.....GM is leaking the images and an embargo it might have announced to media is a sham.

I read the Autoweek article last night and really think GM over-reacted. If one of the "embargoees" broke their contract that is a matter between them and GM--frankly, GM should be the last company to complain about anyone else breaking their word or commitment (and that's comming from someone who is a lawyer). To show up on this guy's doorstep like something out of a spy movie and threaten him is absurd, and is a recipe for big trouble for GM, and makes me wonder whether this was some sort of set-up by some publicity creep at, or working for, GM. Now, assuming this IS the Z06, what did you think?

Chris,
As I stated a month ago when all of this started, GM has EVERY right to protect images of future product. That said, I do not believe that GM sent "goons" to some guy's house to intimidate or otherwise. What, oh, wait, it's the same guy that's got the 100MPG carb? Well, that explains it.
