Something that gets lost in all of this brand competition is THE point that Z06Tom makes. Being loyal to a dealer who DOES a good job for you and not throwing their hard work under the bus to save some dollars or get your car sooner. My 2005 convertible has a TPW of 1/10/05. I'm sure I could have gotten a car sooner out of state, but, my 1998 convertible (my first corvette) was a HORROR show, (42 trips to the dealer in 40 months). My dealer (Diamond Chevrolet in Charlotte) continued to waranty the car after the 36/36,000 was up because of the history of this car. Their service manager, Harry, approached me after the final electrical debacle with this car, asking if I would consider another corvette, and worked with the GM zone guy to get me out of this problem child car and into a 2001 convertible for the same lease rate and no money out of pocket. Martin, Diamond's sales manager, and I ordered the new '01 and he and Harry made what had been a nightmare into a great experience and have, in me, a customer for life. My long winded point is, most folks respond to being treated with respect and will go the extra miles to help. Everyone has a horror story about dealers, but there are plenty of right thinking, good souls out there that give a damn. They deserve our loyalty!
