Hello, I just bought a 1977 Corvette. I bought it as a project . Someone added an extension on the back over the back window. The guy I bought it from said it was called a California custom sunscreen. Does anyone know how to remove it? He said it was molded on. Any help would be appreciated.

Looks to me that would take some serious body work to get back to original.

Might have been an aftermarket item from someone like Ecklers or JC Whitney.

Would you have any idea on where or how I should start?

First of all Welcome To Corvette Action Center we're glad you've joined us :happyanim:

I would bet money it is an after market item, does it hinge up for cleaning the glass and have a lock deal when it's down? I remember them back in the seventies they were pretty popular on a lot of cars and especially Corvettes. Molded on I would say would be very unlikely but hinges screw, popribets maybe, removing it will probably result in some body work or filling in of holes minimum.
