Callaway Upgraded Exhaust with Megaphones

A few people were wondering what the $4,500 larger exhaust sounds like?

Cool, it sounds great! I got to hear the Magic Dragon's megaphones at the Virginia meetup. It's nice and burbly. I love the distinct burble sound. It also looks very well constructed with nice touches bending/turning the pipe in places for a better fit where they could probably have just done less custom fitting.

But I still think $4500 is a little crazy. There is no complex chambering or muffler to construct, no resonator, just straight pipe and an open expanding pipe (the megaphone). Corsa custom fit a stainless, mandrel-bent system for my Aurora (I believe they have only equipped 3 2001+ Auroras including mine with this) that includes a resonator and two mufflers, all of which are a straight through design with resonance chambers. And the tips are very nicely machined with raised lettering. It cost me about $1050.

It just seems like the megaphones should cost $2000 or less for that level of custom fitting. And that price does not include installation, right? So it's custom fitting to the Corvette, not to custom fit it to each persons car. I dunno... <shrug>

While I don't see myself getting the same exhaust you have, I do want the meg's installed ona 2.5" rear y pipe - Scott was looking into that and the pricing involved... Maybe soon

That exhaust looks Top Quality, very nicely done. Talking with Mike at the moment to see if I could just get one megaphone tip. I think you have to own a Callaway to qualify for a megaphone tip. LOL Whats next for your beauty?
