When the 454 was rebuilt and bored .030 over in 1988, they used an Isky cam (#396270). Here is the description for this cam from the Isky website (very cool site):

Replacement for factory LS-5 Cam. Good all-around performance. Good idle. Stock converter. 3:36-3:90 axle ratio. Up to 750 CFM Carb. RPM-Range (2000-6000) Valve Lift (.510 .510) Valve Lash hot (.000 .000) ADV Duration (270 270) .050 Duration (216 216) LC 114

My question is, is this somehow better than a stock cam?

Thanks!
