I can never see enough of that car. :upthumbs
Neither could the 10,000 people that stopped by the Meguar's Wax tent where Riches car was Featured. I tried to talk with him but was overwhelmed by ...heh is that a 502 in their..and what color red is that...Blah...Blah...Blah.:L

Not to swell Richs head but I have NEVER seen a paint job so perfect. I dont know how to describe the color but its RED! and its very deep and flawless. Really a spectacular car to see in person.Pictures really dont do the car justice.

Does anyone know what color it is and what brand he used?
Thanks, I'm looking for a red for my project.

I had the pleasure of meeting Rich on Sat. His car is just unbelievable! Not only is the paintjob as perfect as Larry mentions, but the ENTIRE car is to the same degree of perfection. The attention to detail everywhere is just beyond comparing to any other car I've ever seen. It was a true privilige to see that car in person and to get to meet Rich. When I passed by the tent and saw the car and than realized who's car it was and that it was Rich from CAC I had to try meet him and shake his hand but he was very busy and surounded by people but still he took the time to let me introduce myself and talk to me a bit about his car. I wish I had taken the time he gave me and put it to more productive use and asked him more questions than I did but I was so in awe of the car at the time I didn't even know what questions to ask!
:)

Black Moon,
I think only Rich can tell you what color Red it actually is. I did ask him myself that question at the show since that shade of red was so unique and Rich said it was a color of his own blending. He knew what he wanted in his mind but it didn't exist so he kept mixing and blending until he got it just the way he wanted it. I just hope he kept an extra gallon put aside in case of an emergency!
I guess telling that it's a special blend of his own is not telling any secrets (it's pretty obvious anyway), but only Rich himself can tell you how to get the color! LOL

Bob, you can kill ME now instead if I divulged too much! LOL

Mark,

Thanks for taking the pictures. We didn't get a chance to take many ourselves so I appreciate these.

Bob,

Yes, the real thin guy under the tent is me.........:L

Larry & Barry,

Thanks for the compliments. It's hard to believe that we finished that car 5-1/2 years ago but we still really enjoy it and it's a great car to drive.

Sal,

Barry is right about the mixing we did (at the Corvette Center) to get the color I wanted. We started looking at OEM colors and couldn't find what we wanted. Then I looked through the color sample swatches and couldn't believe how many red variations there are. It was confusing so I threw them away and we started blending various combinations, doing test samples to view in the sun and shade and we finally hit on what I had in mind. I don't remember how many combinations we went through but it was quite a few. We have used that mix on two cars now with a third in progress.

Rich

Rich,
It really looks nice. I'd love to know the secret formula but I'm sure its like Col. Sanders and its protected through the generations. If you feel like sharing just email me and I CAN keep a secret.
Best regards,
Sal

I have seen paint just as nice as that! As I recall, it was a 62 vette..... with an LS6 engine....;)

It was nice for the 67 to get some well-deserved attention again without competition from his little brother. :upthumbs
