I have a list of things to do when the snow goes away and two of them are carpets and seals for a 1980 vette.

Has anybody ordered the carpets from Ecklers and if so what was the quality like.

Also the same question about the rubber seal kit (Doors,windows,T-top) from Ecklers.

Are there any less costly suppliers with the same quality?

I need to start ordering this stuff soon so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

While I can't speak for Eklers and what they carry, I do price shop. As far as carpet goes, There are not a ton of manufacturers, so many places are selling the same stuff. I have found Wilcox hard to beat on price- they blew away about everybody on the stuff I got last summer for my '66.
Carpet set for '78-'82- $198. Weatherstrip kit- $208. Their ORDER ONLY # is 800-588-3883. I have heard good things about The Last Detail, too, although I have never purchased from them.

Carpets & Rubber

I got a good deal on quality weatherstrip thru E-Bay...believe it or not. Got my carpet kit and seat covers from Long Island Corvette Supply. I'll get the specific contact information for you if you like. Email me at tcmcevoy@yahoo.com

Just finished the interior on my 74 Coupe. Good Luck!

Thanks for the response Guys.

They're carpets seem a bit more expensive than Ecklers?

What did you think of the quality and fit???

I just bought carpet for my 81, paid $198 from Willcox and it's ACC carpet. Bought a rear storage set from Dewitts for $140, they make them. Both were excellent quality. Also on a suggestion from bobchad I put in a heat barrier that was very cheap and easy to install, check my web site for the install details. (It's down right now, they are migrating it to a new server but it should be up shortly)

Thanks Scott81, I had already bookmarked your site for the insulation pictures. Nicely done bye the way.

I need to repair some rust on the drivers side under the seat.

Had a leak and didn't pay to much attention , now it's going to take additional work to clean up the rust.

I also just noticed that they don't have my colour of carpet. I have Oyster coloured seats, wheel, doors, dash and a Grey Carpet.

Enigma- Thanks! Give Willcox a call, I bet they can get your color.

carpets and seals

ijust bought some interior dye and sprayed the carpets they look brand new. they were o.k. to start ,all original some fade in places, now they look brand new.

Interesting concept but I have a bald patch in the carpet.

Not Unless I use that product they advertize on late night talk

shows, you know that spray on hair. Maybe they have something

like that for carpets.:bash

I just put a new set of carpets in my '72. I got them from Rick's Corvette.

http://www.riksvet.com/

The price was a little lower than Ecklers.

The quality was fine.

Interesting thing was that the carpet was drop shipped from a place called Custom Carpets. You may be able to buy direct from them and save some.

I had them put in for $200.
