My friend has a 1962 corvette. We restored the front brake cylinders and would like to know if the date "K250", which is embossed on the top of the cylinder, is a casting date. If so can someone explained it and what the date is, thanks. They both have the correct part number also embossed on the side.

If it is a date code and follows normal date coding practices it would be K= November, 25= 25th, and 0= 1960. I can't say for sure why they would be so far off from the year of the car. They could have been a remanufactured repair part installed at some time or been at the back of the parts bin for a long time before pulled to use on the line. I've never had mine off to look at.

thanks

I came to the same conclusion that you did that they are 1960 cylinders. The rear springs have an odd way they are dated so I was not sure if the cylinders also had a number that did not make sense.
