Does anyone know how to get the center console off of a 94 metallic aqua convertible? My Dad thinks there is some spare change lodged in the gear shift. THanks!

If your car was red I could help, but the metallic aqua throws me off!
Sorry, I know I'm a wise A**, but I couldn't resist...:Silly

Welcome to the :CAC

If you lift the center glove box lid, there should be 2 screws towards the front that need to be removed. There should also be 1 other screw underneath the ashtray or cup holder. After those have been removed, it should just wiggle loose. It won't come completely off though, because of the shifter boot. Hope this helps. Let us know how much $$ your Dad finds:D

I agree with both these guys.

I had the same problem where I could not fully open the lid cup holder lid to fit a can into it.
I noticed one day while I was in the passanger seat a ton of change down there.

I took mine apart and found $3.69 down there :beer

I also learned the guy I bought it from was addicted to Dunken Donuts !
Napkins all over the place under there and the seats.

If you have an auto and want to get the shift boot off gently pry the button up and out of the shift lever.
Down inside you will see one of those PITA "C" clips that need special pliers to remove.
You can use other means but even with the pliers it is a pain to get off.
Now you can lift off the console.

1-Remove center console lid by removing the 4 screws that hold the hinge to the console frame.

2-remove the three screws that hold the console cover down. One is below the ashtray/cup holder and the other 2 are at the back end, near the coin slots.

3-Pull (from the back end), up and toward the rear. The console cover should come out.

4-If you want to get it completely out of the way, disconnect the cigarette lighter and hatch switch wiring, and remove the 4 screws that hold the shift boot.

You'll be amazed how much crap gets in there!
