Does the 2009 C6 come with ceramic brake pads? Have an 09 Z-51 ordered, I put them on my 2006 and no more brake dust.

HI there,
Actually, some facts should be noted as far as brake pad composition.
First, it is a constant battle to find a resin formulation that performs in all kinds of conditions well.
If you look at Z51, they are a more aggressive, racing type braking system than the stock setup, to resist head fade and create better performance the hotter they get.
That is why they work so well, but yet when cold, do create a bit of noise.
Thats why GM worked on the high compression pads to help with that condition.
If you look at ceramic composition pads, they will wear your brake rotors MORE than others because of the harder composition to reduce the brake dust.
So, there is the trade off.
Factory pads are constantly engineered and improved over time.

I don't know about the pads, but the rotors are...Carbon/ceramic pads are standard equipment on the 09 ZR1.
How is the initial bite when the carbon pads are cold & wet? Double "H" compound pads are scary when cold.I'd agree with the "trade off" statement completely. There's always a compromise with performance enhancements. However, the pads I bought for the front are far superior for street driving than the stockers. "IF" one was to track the car on a regular basis then this person probably wouldn't care near as much about brake dust issues anyway.
To me, this pad is an excellent compromise with stellar performacne for the street/dust issue. I've seen no stopping distance impact with the ceramis pads.
