Needed to remove the upper A-arm to replace the bushings, so made this little tool for under 10 bucks to get the ball joint loose. Used 3-1/2 inches of heavy wall pipe and 5/8 x 3 grade 8 bolt fine thread, nut and washer. Loosen the nut on upper ball joint and put this tool over the lower stud and butt the head of the bolt up to the upper stud. turn the nut to put some good pressure on the upper ball joint shaft and give the casting a good tap with a hammer and the ball joint pops out. very easy and saves destroying the rubber seals with that pickle fork stuff. Should work to remove the lower ball joint also, just flip the thing over.
