I've seen many recommendations for getting AGREED VALUE insurance. I have STATED VALUE and obviously need to change. Many recommend Haggertys. My questions:

---How do you contact Haggertys--anyone got a number?
---Does AGREED VALUE require any sort of independent appraisal? Pictures, etc? or anything else special?

THANKS for all the advice!!!!!!!!

great resource. My recollection of Hagerty was they wanted a nice picture of the car (I had plenty in the computer, I gave 'em a nice 8x10 glossy), an agreed value that was not ridiculous (they didn't say that to me, I just assume I was not free to put the car down as being worth $1 million) and a copy of my "daily driver" auto insurance policy dec to confirm that each driver in my household had a car (in my case my wife and I) that was not the Vette. I suspect you might have trouble with them if you and your wife share a car, and the collector Vette is your 2nd car - that would expose them to insuring a daily driver, not what they charge low premiums for.

I think its great that you took the time to study your policy,

As I have stated before

I am with condon skelly(they are part of met life and they are "A" rated) I have been with them forever and never had to make a claim so I cant comment on there customer service or claim handeling. If I was to ever switch comapnies I would go to hagerty first I have only heard good things about them including claim handeling.

Good luck And I hope more people check there coverage.

I check the value of my cars every year,My 1967 cadillac has not had a value increase since I have owned it.But the value of my vette seems to increase by at least 5% each year (What other investment is doing this well now) So make sure next year when you renuw the policy you check your value and increase it if you need to.

PS another thing you have to find out about is "UN ATTENDED CLAUSE"

It seem Some policies have a clause that if your car is out of your locked garage it must be in your site range at all times,This seems easey enough but if your at a show or a car cruise and need to use the rest room Your car has now become UN ATTENDED and your not covered.Or lets say you do corvettes of carlilse and you leave your car out in your hotels parking lot over night and it gets damaged or stolen you will not be covered

Good Luck
