clutch question in my "88

when they changed my clutch [4+3 tranny] the mechanic said he had to remove the entire tranny to do this. does this sound right to u guys? then he also said a new clutch was almost 700 bucks too.
thankfuly i didnt have to pay for this work since it was covered by the dealer
 
The trans has to come out to access the clutch and flywheel. Yes, $700 sounds about right.

How did you get somebody else to pay for this?
 
it was covered under the 36 month power train warranty i got with the car. is it a dry clutch thats used in the 88"?
 
Not sure what you mean by "dry" The clutch pedal operates the clutch fork with hydraulic pressure, and there is no oil or fluids in the clutch or around the clutch.

Nice going on the warranty. Did they just include that with every purchase, or did you have to pay extra?
