Procedure for checking for a vacuum leak

An easy way to check for a vacuum leak is to buy a spray can of throttle body cleaner, then with the engine running spray the various vacuum lines and connections one at a time. If you hear a change in the engine RPMs that's your leak.
The cleaner gets sucked into the line and acts as fuel which changes the RPMs.

Also, if you look on the "HELP" brand rack at the Auto parts store you can sometimes find a "Y" or "T" fitting that will work for your car and not pay a lot of money for it.

Good luck with the search.

I'll bet if you check around with a local Corvette Club someone will know a good mechanic that will do the job for less money.
