My check engine light lit up last week and when I pulled the code it says it was a 36 which is the MAF burnoff circuit relay. Looking at a search it appears it isn't too expensive but my trusty Haynes give me no clue on where it is. I'm assuming it's plugged into the MAF. Can someone give me the details on switching one out till I scrape up the money for the real service manuals?

Thanks for the help.

There are two relays behind the battery on the firewall, replace them both and see if the codes return.

I was looking at all the Code 36 problems and solutions when I did a search. I found one thread that gave the part numbers for the relays. 10067925 is for the power relay and 10094701 is the burnoff relay, which I think is the one I need based on the code 36. However when I checked the relays themselves, both have part number 14089936. Does anybody know which are the correct part numbers?

Thanks

NAPA was same relays, different part numbers. Pull the side panel behind driver's side front wheel, pull battery, change relays on firewall. If you end up with after-market you will have to pull old relays and put new ones in old bracket. This solved my MAF SES light problem. DO you have a freshly oiled K&N by any chance...

Thanks for the help on the relays. Went to the dealer to get them and naturally they are not in stock. I've got to take it to the local Corvette shop anyway for a new starter (didn't want to tackle that one) so I'll just have them swap out the relays then. Owner is in the local club so I thought I'd sent a little business his way.

Sorry but I don't have the K&N filter. Everything on the car is bone stock except for swapping out the original radio for an Alpine CD unit. Just about ready to turn over 36000 miles.

Thanks all for the help.
