I'd like to get a reader for my 91, any advice on which one, where to get it, and prices, etc. Thanks

A short piece of wire works great. You can use it and your dash to get code readouts for the ABS computer, the ECM, and the BCM depending on which pins of the ALDC you short together. I used to know this but always reference the factory service manual to be sure. Best thing is the price ... free, I'm sure you can dig up about 2 inches of wire somewhere.

:w

I guess i should have been a little more specific as to the type and purpose of the code reader/scanner. it's my understanding you can retreve a lot of valuable info when useing one, not just pull the fault codes.:w

This ease software I have borrowed is really great. However I have seen those auto xray scanners that will give you real time output as the ECM sees it. They sell them through corvette central.

I still have a laptop with WinALDL, cable and a very good battery that'll do the trick for ya. E-mail me if you're interested.

Ahhh I see said the blind man. Scanner. I use EASE its a little pricey ... around $350 ... well worth it IMHO. It can be gotten through www.obd2.com Datamaster is another its free for the first 5 scans I do believe the only drawback is you have to buy/build the interface cable. Another is WinALDL like Moonunit uses. I haven't used this one but I think you have to build/buy a cable for it also.

Actually, I bought the EASE as well. Now I just have to find the time to learn how to use the darn thing:cry

U have mail. I am not sure it'll read this ECM, from a '90 Camaro.
