Mine is rusted out as usual, and I was unable to fix it (JB weld and so on..).
I removed the fitting from the old can and want to construct a new reservoir.
Any suggestions?
I know there are alot of mechanical inclined people here...

There is a place online that sells one for $79.95, but that is not the price or the solution I am looking for.
I was thinking about using a piece of 6" PVC and caps.

Why not go to the grocery store and buy a similar sized can of juice or some other liquid. Drill a hole where the fitting is supposed to go, and let the liquid drain out. Wash out the insides, solder on your fitting and off you go.

I thought about that too, Mikey, would the PVC last longer? Or do you mean to keep the original look with a juice can? Just wondering.

I need to screw the fitting on from the inside...

just remeber this can is for your vacuum for the headlite doors.you will have to find a way to test it to be sure it will work for you...bill :w

Older Fords (phwettt) use a coffee can type vacuum reservoir in most of there AC equipped cars and trucks. They come in various sizes and have mounting bracket already attached. Find them at the junkyard and if you giver over $2 for one you are getting screwed.

The other way to fix is to make your own using 3 to 4 inch diameter PVC pipe and two glue on end caps. Drill the top one out for your fitting(s) and attach from the bottom and then glue the cap on the pipe. Paint it flat black and you are done. Just a couple of suggestions.
